Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate (prostate) in men. According to statistics, it is the most common urological disease in the age group between 25 and 50 years. The main causes of the disease can be divided into 2 groups: infectious and non-infectious. In most cases, the causes of prostatitis are not specifically contagious.
Many factors are involved in the development of the disease: smoking, hypothermia, regular alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, and eventually genital infections that spread to the prostate. Prostate and tight clothing, allergic reactions, trauma, severe stress, constipation and prolonged urinary retention can adversely affect health.
The impetus for the manifestation of the disease is usually low sexual activity or prolonged abstinence. Due to all these factors, hormonal changes occur, blood circulation in the pelvic organs is disrupted and lymph stasis occurs. This in turn lowers the immune system, which makes the prostate very susceptible to infections and viruses.
Prostatitis can be divided into 3 forms: infectious, acute and chronic.
Causes of the infectious form can be different types of bacteria, viruses, fungi and Trichomonas. As a rule, the development of infectious prostatitis occurs due to the entry of sexually transmitted infections into the prostate. Often these are infections such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis. Infection from the urinary tract and bladder through the lymphatic or blood vessels of the pelvis into the prostate gland worsens the blood supply to the prostate, causing blockage or (very rarely) blood poisoning. However, it does not always lead to the development of inflammation - it requires the above factors, without which the disease can not manifest itself.
Acute prostatitis is the main cause of discomfort and pain when going to the toilet. The patient often has fever (up to 40 degrees), chills, weakness, pain in the perineum. In the acute form, prostate edema occurs due to disruption of normal urinary excretion. You should make an appointment with a urologist immediately at the first symptoms, as delays in treatment can lead to a chronic form of the disease. At the same time, with acute prostatitis, the chances of a complete cure are almost always high, although complex treatment is required. Generally, these include antiviral medications, ultrasound, physical therapy, reflexology, and prostate massage.
Chronic prostatitis, if left untreated, develops 3-6 months after the onset of the acute form. In this form, the disease may remain invisible for a long time, but under certain conditions it is possible to flare up. The danger of prostatitis is that it can carry other, more unpleasant diseases: vesiculitis, fibrosis, inflammation of the appendages, and then erectile dysfunction (impotence) and, consequently, infertility.
Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies
Acute or complicated prostatitis is treated only in a hospital under the supervision of doctors. They perform complete diagnostics, PCR, uroflowmetry, blood and urine tests, and detect the presence of viruses or dangerous bacteria. And only then, depending on the identified causes, antibiotics, immunostimulants, laser and physiotherapy are prescribed. Severe cases may also require surgery.
Home treatment of prostatitis will be effective only in the absence of complications or with recurrence of the chronic form. In general, folk remedies for prostatitis are designed to reduce pain, increase immunity and help eliminate pelvic edema.
Squat for prostatitis
When the cause of prostatitis is inflammation (not a bacterial infection), the disease is more likely to be caused by a disruption of the blood supply to the pelvis, which affects both the prostate and the surrounding muscles. And there is no better way to restore blood circulation than regular squats. Test yourself first: straighten your arms, lift them above your head, and do not squat as much as you can.
These should be deep squats "to the end", ie the pelvis should not extend at the level of the knees and the torso should not bend forward, and create the illusion of exercise. If you can do this 80-100 times, your chances of recovery are high. If pain develops in the legs and pelvis rapidly, it is a sign of weakness of the leg muscles, as well as problems with blood circulation in the prostate and other pelvic organs.
You can't do this every day, but limit yourself to 3 times a week. If you can't sit 80 times, try to divide your performance into several approaches: 4 times 20 times, 2 times 40 or 50 times. For maximum efficiency, the break should not be too long - 3-5 minutes.
Try completing squats with other exercises:
- Lift your legs while lying on your stomach (about 20 times per approach), but you should not do this 100 times to avoid overloading;
- Do the "scissors": sit on the floor, find support for your hands behind your back, lift your legs into the air, and release them alternately from right to left. Do not overdo it with this exercise.
Together with squats, these exercises should be given a total of 100-150 times - then home treatment of prostatitis will be most effective and may not require medication.
Other exercises for prostatitis
- Lie on your back, bend your legs and put them on - your knees should reach your face. Lie down for 3-20 minutes with your arms around your legs. This exercise will also be very effective in treating prostatitis, but you have to be very patient. And the longer you can sleep in this situation, the better. But don't overdo it! Disappointed for more than 20 minutes at a time.
- Perineal massage is also one of the most effective exercises against prostatitis. Do it in the morning, immediately after sleep, to eliminate prostate obstruction.
- Another effective exercise is done immediately before breakfast. Stand up to your full height, bring your legs together and do one-third of the usual squats. Freeze in this position and start moving your knees one by one: left, then right. Do this for 5 minutes. You can repeat the same thing in the evening. This is a very complicated method and may not be easy, but if it is done regularly, you will get used to it and you will not only be able to treat prostatitis, but also to prevent it regularly.
Pumpkin seeds for prostatitis
Pumpkin seeds have long been popular in the treatment of prostatitis. This is a very powerful and at the same time affordable and inexpensive folk remedy. They contain a lot of zinc, which is necessary for a person of any age - the daily ration is only 30 seeds. Just eat dried seeds before meals every day and you will see rapid improvement.
Another way is to peel a kilo of seeds and pass them through a meat grinder. The main thing is not to fry, otherwise you will not get the desired effect. Add 200-250 grams of honey to them and mix. As a result, make small balls of the same mass as the hazelnuts. Store these balls in the refrigerator for a few minutes before using.
Eat these balls twice a day, half an hour before meals. But swallow quickly, but chew slowly for a few minutes. As a rule, such treatment is very effective, and one course per year will be enough to prevent relapse.
Treatment of prostatitis with hazelnuts
You will need bark or leaves to make this product - both will be equally effective. You can use them one by one, but it is advisable not to mix them. It should be noted that the infusion of the shell takes twice as long.
Infuse 1 tablespoon of the product in 1 cup of boiling water, cover with a lid and infuse for half an hour. Then strain and order a quarter of a glass 4 times a day. You can use both fresh and infused 1-2 times to infuse, although it is fresh, it will be more effective. This remedy usually helps to eliminate the symptoms of prostatitis within a week.
Mosquito bark from prostatitis
Aspen bark will be as effective against prostatitis as hazelnut peel and leaves. To do this, aspen bark should be collected before the sap flow begins, before the buds and leaves begin to bloom. This usually happens in mid-April. The thickness of the shell can be any, but preferably more than 3 mm.
The crust should be slightly dried in the shade or in the oven, then take 100 grams, grind and pour into a container of 0. 5 liters. The crust is poured with 200 grams of vodka, but to cover it completely. Then the jar should be tightly closed and allowed to infuse for 2 weeks in a dark place. Then strain the tincture through cheesecloth or a sieve.
Infuse 20 drops in a quarter glass of water 3 times a day before meals. In general, the obtained maple tincture is enough for about 2 months.
Treatment of prostatitis with wormwood
Wormwood is a wonderful remedy for almost any inflammation in the genital tract, as it is very effective in killing a purulent infection. Only 100 grams of dried wormwood can make a complete remedy. It should be carefully chopped and filtered through a kitchen strainer. The plant passing through it is suitable for taking in dry form - dried wormwood has a cleansing effect on the body due to its strong bitterness, kills all kinds of infectious agents and parasites.
How is wormwood treated? The algorithm is simple:
- To start, you need to swallow a pinch of dry crushed grass washed with water for the first 3 days. This should be done every 2-3 hours, including at night. It doesn't matter if you do it before or after a meal. It is very important that you do not take a break for the first 3 days, even for the night. This is a very difficult procedure due to the difficulty of swallowing bitter herbs, but such a course will help you not only with prostatitis, but also with other infections.
- In the second stage, it is required to drink wormwood 5-6 times a day, 4 days in a row, giving only night breaks.
You must maintain a strict diet throughout this course. Otherwise, the effectiveness of treatment can be significantly reduced.
- It is advisable to exclude bread or reduce the amount to 200 grams, but not fresh, but time to "stretch" a little;
- Eliminate meat, fish, sausages, eggs, sweets, cheese and other dairy products from your diet;
- Make sure you exclude alcohol and tobacco;
- But at the same time, you can freely use a variety of grains, nuts, fruits and sunflower oil.
During the course, you may experience an exacerbation of some underlying disease, joint pain, and general weakness.
Parsley for prostatitis
Parsley is an extremely healthy plant with many healing properties. In particular, they include the ability to stop inflammation and normalize the function of the genitals. We use parsley to taste when cooking, but in fact it is a powerful medicinal plant and contains many useful trace elements and vitamins.
For example, 100 grams of parsley contains a daily requirement of vitamin A, which is very useful for the ability to see parsley. At the same time, it contains several times more vitamin C than lemon. In addition, parsley contains inulin (natural insulin), which effectively regulates blood sugar levels and has a beneficial effect on the intestines.
To combat prostatitis, you should drink a tablespoon of parsley juice 3 times a day for half an hour before meals. You can also use chopped parsley seeds: pour a glass of boiling water over it and cook for 15 minutes. Take water for one tablespoon 5-6 times a day.
Herbal treatment of prostatitis
An herbal remedy for prostatitis is a very old and proven remedy. Recipes used in folk medicine for centuries have come to us practically unchanged. Below we list the most effective of these recipes:
- Squeeze the celandine juice from the freshly taken stem and mix with alcohol in a ratio of 1: 1. Take infusion before breakfast. The first time - infuse one drop in 50 grams of water, and then gradually increase the dose to 30 drops by the end of the month.
- Another recipe for the treatment of parsley: add lingonberry, hawthorn and valerian root. The herbs should be chopped and mixed, and then filled with a glass of boiling water. Then strain the solution through cheesecloth and take half a glass 2 times a day. This infusion will be very effective for the infectious form of prostatitis.
- To treat prostatitis with cloves, grind the dried plant and pour a glass of boiling water over it. Then everything is done as in the previous recipe: strain the tincture through cheesecloth and use half a glass.
- Radiola pink will be extremely effective against chronic prostatitis. Pour a glass of boiling water on a tablespoon of crushed roots of this plant and infuse for an hour. The tincture is then filtered to 2 cups to half a cup per day (usually before breakfast and dinner).
It is important to know that herbal remedies generally take longer than other treatments, including medications. The course usually lasts from one to six months. However, the advantage of herbal treatment for prostatitis is that it is very effective not only with symptoms but also with the causes of the disease, which is usually hidden from view. In addition, unless you have allergies, herbs rarely have side effects, and medications based on different herbs can be combined without problems.
It is also important to remember: when using alcoholic tinctures, especially if you have problems with the gastrointestinal tract, it is not recommended to eat them on an empty stomach.
Prevention of prostatitis
Prevention is always easier and more cost-effective than treatment. Therefore, you need to know a few simple secrets that will help you avoid the development and complications of prostatitis.
- Try not to sit for long periods of time without interruption, especially in an uncomfortable position;
- Avoid hypothermia, especially in the pelvic region;
- Avoid constipation and urinary retention - they greatly contribute to the development of the disease.
In addition, regular physical activity, which helps to improve blood circulation in the pelvic organs, will be a very good preventive measure. A proper, well-oiled diet will also help. It should be noted that these points will allow a person to avoid many diseases that await him in 30 years.
Remember, instead of diagnosing yourself and trying to treat yourself at home, you should first consult an experienced therapist! Thus, you will avoid many difficulties and possible complications.
